Oracle Software Developer

Are you an experienced Oracle APEX and ORDS Developer with a strong background in full-stack development and cloud integration? Our client is looking for a Senior Oracle Software Developer for a remote contract role anywhere in Ontario 🧩. You’ll work on mission-critical systems modernization and cloud migration projects, designing low-code applications and building RESTful APIs using Oracle technologies. This role is key to enhancing service delivery while ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

📅 Contract Duration: 8 months (with a 60-day extension option)

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using Oracle APEX
• Develop RESTful APIs using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for backend integration
• Optimize Oracle APEX applications for performance, accessibility, and usability
• Support the full SDLC including requirements, testing, and deployment
• Provide technical input on solution architecture and system improvement
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in both development and production
• Implement security best practices for APEX applications
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical team members to ensure quality delivery
• Document technical solutions, processes, and transition steps for knowledge transfer
• Participate in Kanban/DevOps workflows for tracking and managing tasks

Qualifications

Must Have

• 10+ years experience in Oracle development roles
• Proven expertise in Oracle APEX (including interactive reports, charts, dynamic actions)
• Strong experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) for API development
• Solid understanding of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and data modeling
• Familiarity with web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Knowledge of security best practices for web applications
• Cloud experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Experience supporting all phases of SDLC and technical documentation

Nice to Have

☁️ Experience with Red Hat Linux environments

📈 Skills in solution architecture assessments (as-is/to-be state)

🛠️ Performance tuning and optimization of Oracle APEX applications

📄 Understanding of AODA compliance and accessibility standards

🤝 Ability to collaborate effectively in Agile and DevOps environments
