The Lockheed Martin Space GPL team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated C2 Technical Lead to join our development team. As the Leader of a Command and Control (C2) Software System, you will lead a team of developers to design, develop, test, and deploy a major software subsystem to provide command and telemetry of a satellite system.

Responsibilities

Leading a team of software engineers, coordinating with other subsystem team and program leadership, splitting time between technical and leadership tasks
Planning, conducting, and coordinating software development activities for a command and control software system
Engaging with Systems Engineering organization to decompose and allocate requirements, perform verification and validation, and support system integration
Applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. This will include facilitating an Agile workflow and supporting major program milestone events (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR) from initial design through final delivery of a product
Ensures software standards are met in conjunction with Horizon Product leadership
Support to an international customer with ability to work a dynamic flexible work schedule

Basic Qualifications

Experience designing and documenting microservice‑based architectures
Experience leading a software development team
Strong Presentation Skills
Deep understanding of open architecture, cloud computing design, and security principles
Demonstrated proficiency in software development using Java or C#
Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
Ability to support meetings taking place in the Japan Standard Time (JST) time zone

Desired Skills

Experience working with an International customer
Experience with Command and Control Systems
Experience with Cloud environments
Experience integrating software components via machine‑to‑machine interfaces (e.g., RESTful APIs, ActiveMQ, etc.)
Understanding / proficiency in application containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
Experience with test automation and continuous integration and deployment
Strong background developing / debugging and/or testing of web applications and web services
Experience with Elastic Search, Kibana, Logstash (ELK stack)
Demonstrated experience working in Agile teams leveraging Scrum, Kanban or other methodologies and/or understanding of Agile development concepts

Ability to Work Remotely

Full‑time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Pay Rate

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $154,100 - $267,145. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate

The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 - $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non‑represented full‑time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full‑time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
