Job Description: Radio Software Developer
Location: Kanata, Ontario, Ottawa
Contract
- Work in a tight collaborative group focused on designing, testing and troubleshooting new hardware/software Radios to ensure that the overall product can meet its functional and performance requirements
- Prepare lab environment including both hardware and software components
- Connect multiple digital & analog radio frequency (RF) designs into a product prototype
- Be responsible for the functional and performance integration of new products
- Develop calibration and performance optimization procedures
- Define test coverage required for product integration
- Implement test automation and validation methods using scripting in python or MATLAB
- Analyze results, drive product design updates, identify potential system design shortcomings, and influence future designs
- Perform statistical analysis of measurement data
To be successful in this internship you will need:
- Master’s degree in programs specialized in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering or a related field. A Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience.
- More than 5 years of experience designing/developing/integrating Radio Products
- Experience with 3GPP standards
- Leadership in understanding the complexities of Radio development and directing experienced RF engineers.
- Strong troubleshooting acumen
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong team and interpersonal skills
- Strong object-oriented programming skills (Python, C++ an asset)
- Scripting skills in MATLAB are an asset
- RF Engineering skills are an asset
- Energy and drive to thrive in a dynamic product development environment
- Proficient English skills, both written and spoken
Other useful skills
- Experience with lab equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power supplies
- Proficient knowledge of wireless communication standards
Understanding of analog/digital hardware building blocks
To be successful in this internship you will need:
