About this opportunity

Ericsson On-Demand: Shaping the next telecommunication paradigm. We are transforming the mobile telecommunications market by bringing solutions forward with true as-a-Service technologies and commercial models built on the public cloud. Our partnership with Google Cloud is breaking new ground, enabling Ericsson Core Network Services—starting with the 5G DMC—to be deployed at hyperscaler scale.Launched earlier in 2025, Ericsson On-Demand is rapidly moving from incubation to commercial readiness and is now preparing for trials to meet market demands.

We’re building a reusable Google Cloud Platform (GCP) foundation that will be used by hundreds of developers to build and run our next‑generation telco SaaS offerings. As a Cloud Foundation Developer, you will design, deliver, and operate the core building blocks of our multi‑tenant GCP platform: org/folder/project hierarchies, secure network patterns, reusable Terraform modules, GitOps workflows, and provisioning automation — with a strong focus on security, operability, and cost efficiency.

Your work will directly enable faster developer velocity, stronger governance, lower risk, and optimized cloud spend across Ericsson’s cloud portfolio.

What you will do

  • Design GCP org/folder/project hierarchies and enable platform services for multi‑tenant environments.
  • Architect VPCs and network patterns (subnets, routing, firewall rules, Shared VPC, ingress/egress controls).
  • Build and maintain reusable Terraform modules, manage remote state, and keep infrastructure‑as‑code clean and composable.
  • Implement and operate GitOps/CI pipelines (PR‑driven workflows) with validation, safe apply, and rollback.
  • Automate tenant and workspace provisioning at scale, including policy, networking, IAM, and baseline services.
  • Implement and evolve Zero Trust patterns (Workload Identity Federation, short‑lived credentials, least‑privilege IAM, Secret Manager/KMS usage, signed images/artifacts).
  • Provide observability and operability for the platform (logs, audit trails, metrics, alerts, incident playbooks).
  • Partner with stakeholders to reduce cloud cost via tagging, rightsizing, budgets/quotas, and cost guardrails.
  • Contribute to runbooks, standards, and SDLC integration so application teams can safely adopt the platform.

The skills you bring

  • Proven experience designing and delivering platform‑level cloud solutions at scale, preferably in a platform/SRE/infra role.
  • Deep GCP architecture experience, including:
  • Org/folder/project structure and policies
  • VPC design (subnets, routing, firewalling, Shared VPC)
  • IAM design for multi‑team or multi‑tenant environments
  • Solid skills with Terraform (modules, state management, best practices) in production environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with CI/CD or GitOps pipelines (e.g., Argo CD, Flux, Cloud Build, or similar) and PR‑driven workflows.
  • Experience building provisioning automation and governance for multi‑tenant or multi‑team platforms.
  • Practical exposure to cloud security and supply‑chain security in CI/CD (e.g., signed artifacts/images, secrets management, policy‑as‑code).
  • Strong collaboration and mentoring skills — you are comfortable guiding teams, writing runbooks, and driving adoption of platform patterns
  • Python and/or similar scripting language
