The Government Client is seeking a Senior Software Developer – Back End with recent hands-on experience in PL/I and mainframe technologies to support critical legacy system enhancements and integrations.

Job Description

Must-Haves

• Recent experience with PL/I V4.5+ within the last 5 years
• 5+ years writing PL/I transactions to process and consume XML input/output
• Expertise with IMS DB V12+ (HALDB and DEDB) using PLITDLI API
• Experience with DB2 for z/OS V11+ and z/OS V2.2+
• Proficiency using File Aid V10.1+ or IBM File Manager V13.1+

Key Responsibilities

Analyze existing systems to create detailed logical and physical designs. Develop and modify PL/I code for online, batch, and workstation programs. Collaborate with database administrators to define and implement technical changes. Produce technical specifications, lead JAD sessions, and ensure alignment with QA standards. Support all phases of testing, including unit, integration, and defect resolution. Provide knowledge transfer and status updates to the project team, while ensuring all deliverables align with OPS standards.
