The Opportunity

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design, development, rigorous testing, and efficient deployment of software components specifically tailored for our algorithmic trading platform.
• Support the development, seamless integration, and efficient deployment of sophisticated machine learning and artificial intelligence models into our core trading infrastructure and our expanding portfolio of broader AI applications, under the expert guidance of senior team members.
• Help design, build, and maintain highly scalable and exceptionally reliable data pipelines for the efficient collection, rigorous processing, and in-depth analysis of massive datasets.
• Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and experienced traders to learn firsthand about their complex requirements for both mission-critical trading systems and advanced AI models.
• Actively participate in various stages of the software development lifecycle, from meticulous requirements gathering and comprehensive system design to contributing to flawless deployment and providing proactive basic support.
• Proactively explore and learn about novel technologies and cutting-edge architectures relevant to our systems, particularly those at the forefront of machine learning and AI infrastructure.
• Contribute to the conceptualization and development of groundbreaking AI applications extending beyond trading, potentially in transformative areas such as advanced data analytics or intelligent automation, under close supervision.
• Assist in championing and ensuring high standards of code quality, maintainability, comprehensive testing, and adherence to industry best practices.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues with speed and efficiency, under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Actively participate in team knowledge sharing initiatives and embrace learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Exceptional academic aptitude while currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related quantitative discipline from a top-tier university, demonstrating strong academic performance (Top GPA preferred).
• Demonstrable top-tier coding ability, evidenced by significant achievements such as being an International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) medalist or an ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM/ICPC) finalist.
• Demonstrable foundational coding ability in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java), with a strong aptitude for learning and applying best practices.
• Solid foundational understanding of core computer science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Proficiency and experience in utilizing AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codeium) to enhance coding productivity and efficiency.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and tackling complex challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Proven ability to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, highly demanding, and dynamic environment, demonstrating adaptability and a strong sense of eagerness.
• A genuine passion for cutting-edge technology and an unwavering desire for continuous learning and professional growth in both advanced software engineering and the rapidly evolving domains of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
• Basic understanding of fundamental machine learning and artificial intelligence concepts is a significant plus.
