C++ Software Engineer

Job Title: C++ Software Engineer in Ottawa

Job Description

Join an internationally recognized leader in space robotics and satellite payloads, working on cutting-edge projects like Lidar and Vision Systems for spacecraft. You will contribute to the integration of advanced sensor and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct software development primarily in C++ on a Linux platform.
• Apply engineering principles to both moderately complex and complex projects related to product or tool design.
• Address diverse problems through independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions.
• Perform requirements analysis and prepare software specifications.
• Develop software architectural designs.
• Prepare software design and test documentation.
• Participate in software and systems integration testing activities.
• Interface with customers during requirements definition and design review activities.
• Collaborate with other engineering and project team disciplines, including hardware, electrical, and systems.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in software engineering with a focus on embedded systems.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and experience with RTOS.
• Experience in a safety or mission-critical environment, such as avionics or aerospace.
• Familiarity with Python, Matlab, OpenCV, and QT.
• Understanding of satellite, military standards, and computer vision technologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in C++ development for embedded systems.
• Ability to mentor junior developers within a small team.
• Experience with Computer Vision technologies like OpenCV and TensorFlow.
• Knowledge of military or aerospace software development standards.
• Familiarity with QT, BOOST, and STL.
• Experience with Windows development environments.

Work Environment

The role involves hybrid work with on-site days typically on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. You will eventually work in the lab for hardware integration and testing, contributing to an innovative environment focused on advancing space technology.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
