Salary: Grade 10, £46,579- £50,908 per annum.

2 positions x 37 hours per week

We are recruiting to two Procurement Business Partner positions, with each post having a different area of focus:

• Procurement Business Partner Works
• Procurement Business Partner Services

Your role

As a Procurement Business Partner, you will work closely with Council services, commissioners, legal colleagues, suppliers and local partners to develop and deliver strategic procurement solutions that support Wigan Council's corporate priorities and Community Wealth Building ambitions. You will lead complex procurement projects, provide commercial and procurement expertise, engage with markets and suppliers along with helping to maximise social, economic and environmental benefits from public spending. The role also includes supporting and developing fellow procurement colleagues, making it an excellent opportunity to combine strategic procurement, stakeholder engagement and people leadership.

About you

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional with a strong track record of delivering complex public sector procurements and category management strategies. You will have excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills along with the confidence to influence senior leaders and manage competing priorities. The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, analytical, innovative and able to interpret procurement legislation and governance requirements. Experience of project management, relationship building, supporting colleagues and delivering successful outcomes in a local government or wider public sector environment is essential.
