We're a small, agile business with a hands-on owner and two dedicated full-time developers. We specialize in creating custom software solutions for our clients, working on exciting projects that span both Microsoft Power Apps and traditional full-stack web/mobile development. We're passionate about delivering high-quality products and are looking for a detail-oriented tester to become a key part of our quality assurance process.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable and meticulous Part-Time Software Tester to join our team, initially for 10-15 hours per week. Your primary mission will be to ensure our software meets the required standards and faithfully implements user stories before it's released.

Your core responsibilities will include

Thoroughly reviewing user stories to understand acceptance criteria and expected outcomes.
Manually testing new features and functionalities developed by our team. This will cover:
Web applications (accessible via standard web browsers).
Mobile interfaces (testing on actual mobile devices will be essential for certain features).
Specifically, conducting tests on mobile phones (iOS or Android) to verify offline functionalities, data synchronization, and overall mobile user experience.
Identifying, meticulously documenting, and clearly reporting any bugs, defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from user stories.
Communicating your findings effectively to the development team to ensure issues are understood and can be promptly addressed.
Managing your assigned testing tasks within our testing queue.

What We're Looking For (Skills & Experience)

Proven experience in manual software testing.
Exceptional attention to detail: You have a knack for spotting inconsistencies and issues that others might overlook.
Excellent written English skills: Clear, concise, and accurate spelling and grammar in your bug reports and documentation are crucial.
Reasonable fluency in spoken English for effective team communication.
A methodical and systematic approach to testing.
The ability to understand user requirements and translate them into practical test scenarios.
You are reliable, responsible, and capable of managing your time effectively, especially in a remote working environment.
Access to a modern smartphone (iOS or Android) for mobile testing purposes.
Familiarity with testing web applications across common browsers.
Desirable (but not essential): Some familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps or the general concepts of full-stack web/mobile development environments would be a plus. We understand that strong testing skills are transferable across platforms.
