Position Purpose

Reporting to the Product Manager, the incumbent evaluates the users business and software requirements and develops new or enhances existing or off-the-shelf computer applications. Manages medium to major projects and may be required to supervise the work of others. Is focused on meeting user needs and improving the efficiency of the University’s business processes through system and software solutions.

In this role, your responsibilities will include

Analysis: Provides professional expertise and leads the analysis of client business and functional requirements for projects of medium and large scope and assists in determining technical, operational and economic feasibility.
Design: Provides leadership in the creation of technical designs and system specifications or plans in order to translate requirements into technical specification documents.
Development and Testing: Develops and writes complex programs and oversees the work of others in developing effective program code, tests, debugs and performs integration tests to ensure correct functionality of software.
Documentation: Creates and reviews the documentation of others for new releases or application upgrades.
Data Security: Responsible for ensuring confidentiality, security and accessibility of institutional data. The incumbent complies with and promotes any controls put in place to protect and secure data and exhibits due diligence in following the established information security and privacy policies as well as related standards.

What you will bring

University degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum five (5) years of experience developing and implementing software applications.
Experience with Python, PHP, JavaScript, and SQL (including stored procedures, ETLs, complex queries, and managing large, complex database architectures)
Experience with Power BI and API integrations.
Experience with the software development life cycle for creating new tools, implementing acquired solutions, and integrating products.
Deep understanding of CRM concepts and business processes, with proven experience delivering comprehensive, enterprise-grade solutions for mid- to large-sized user groups
Strong background in higher education advancement operations, including fundraising and public relations operations.
Experience with project and task management tools such as Jira.
Strong proficiency in Excel for analyzing and manipulating data.
Excellent customer service skills.
Experience in providing supervision, guidance, leadership and feedback to project teams and junior resources.
Analytical skills to diagnose, troubleshoot, debug and repair complex programming issues.
Ability to proactively keep abreast of new and emerging technologies.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to users.
Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written).
