Software Test Lab Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Software Lab Technician with strong software engineering, networking, telecommunications, and laboratory infrastructure experience to support complex testing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions with Development, Systems Engineering, and Product teams to identify laboratory equipment and infrastructure requirements.
• Plan and coordinate lab infrastructure, hardware implementation, and future program requirements.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures, software configuration issues, network connectivity, and application-related problems.
• Track and manage issues through JIRA, including root cause analysis.
• Manage lab inventory, equipment tracking, audits, cataloging, repairs, and asset maintenance.
• Conduct periodic health checks of laboratory equipment and resolve identified issues.
• Manage RFQs, purchase requisitions, RMAs, purchase orders, parts delivery, and returns.
• Create and maintain SOPs, test bench documentation, and knowledge-sharing materials.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and support to software testing teams.
• Drive continuous improvements in lab processes, hardware configurations, automation, and infrastructure.
• Identify future technology requirements and support lab upgrade projects.
• Participate in lab management meetings and collaborate with testing teams to resolve product issues.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and support successful service delivery.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of networking experience.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting tools such as ping, nslookup, and tracert.
• Experience testing complex systems.
• Understanding of Agile/SAFe software development methodologies.
• Intermediate experience with Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with JIRA and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining telecommunications equipment and network environments.
• Understanding of inflight connectivity (IFEC) systems, including devices, WAPs, ACPU, and network equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with software engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA A+ certification.
• CompTIA Network+ certification.
• CCNA or equivalent networking knowledge.
• Aviation or IFEC domain experience.
• Telecommunications network infrastructure experience.
• Lab automation experience.

Pay: $58.00 - $60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
