Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining printing presses, ensuring high-quality output while adhering to production schedules. This role requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of print production processes, including quality control measures and layout design.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of printing presses, ensuring optimal performance and quality output.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printing equipment to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with the prepress team to prepare layouts and ensure designs meet specifications.
• Implement quality control checks throughout the printing process to maintain high standards.
• Utilize graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite, to assist in layout design and typography adjustments as needed.
• Manage inventory of inks, substrates, and other materials required for print jobs.
• Assist in training new staff on press operation and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Press Operator or in a similar role within the printing industry.
• Strong knowledge of quality control processes related to print production.
• Familiarity with layout design principles and prepress procedures.
• Experience with screen printing techniques is a plus.
• Proficiency in graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of typography and print advertising standards.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely is preferred but not required.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay: $23.95 - $27.00 per hour
