Space & Science Communicator for Youtube Show

Overview

Orbital Edge is seeking passionate space and science communicators to help deliver the space news on a new anchor style show. Full shows are around 2 hours to shoot. You will research, write, and collaborate. If you ever wanted to be on a fun show about space, this is the only place on Youtube.

DO NOT APPLY IF

• You cannot talk space and science. You will need to have good grasp of the aerospace industry and science. STEM fields are mostly preferred.
• You cannot pass a government background check. NASA will be evaluating our communicators for press site accreditation. A press badge is one of the most prestigious perks you can get.

Skills Needed

• Google Drive & Slides
• On-camera presentation
• Vivid and organic speech style
• Knowledge of spaceflight, space science, astronomy, or NASA
• Cross-communication with others to facilitate an engaging conversation on the show to curate a new space fan audience

You will Need

• A typical remote workplace setup capable of video conferencing
• A modern laptop for show notes and in-show guidance

The Good Stuff

• Day 1 merch. More merch giveaways after 90 days!
• Possible Nasa Press Accreditation - This will be based on YOUR performance
• A really fun environment - think space hangouts
• You will be using Slack and Zoom for collaboration
• We shoot a bonus, fun uncut mini-show where we just chill around and talk space

Other Requirements

• Communication on Slack is almost daily
• Studio teardown and studio setup - Banner install, lighting, and cabling of devices
• You may be asked to submit a sample video if you resume is questionable
