New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Senior Oracle Data Migration Developer for a long-term federal government engagement. The successful candidate will bring extensive software/database development experience with recent Oracle data migration expertise and strong database programming skills. Experience developing and maintaining Microsoft Access/VBA applications will be particularly valuable.
This is a hybrid engagement supporting a client in the National Capital Region (NCR), and may include substantial onsite work.
Responsibilities
- Migrate and translate data from files, legacy systems and relational databases into Oracle database environments.
- Extract, transform, map and load source data into Oracle staging and production structures.
- Develop and maintain complex queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers and other database objects.
- Support database development using Oracle PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL.
- Develop, enhance and troubleshoot Microsoft Access applications, including forms and VBA-based functionality.
- Support Oracle APEX development where required.
- Troubleshoot data migration and application issues and support data quality and integrity throughout migration activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience within the past 15 years working as a software developer and/or database modeller.
- Minimum 1 year within the past 5 years migrating and translating data from files, legacy systems or relational databases into Oracle database environments.
- Strong data migration experience involving extraction, transformation/mapping and loading of data.
- Strong database development experience using Oracle PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server T-SQL.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, science, computer science, mathematics or a technology domain.
Preferred
- Significant Microsoft Access application development experience, including forms, VBA, workflow automation, debugging and optimization.
- Oracle APEX application development experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, Oracle SQL Developer and/or APEX Office Print.
- Aviation or aerospace experience.
