Position: Senior Front End - Software Developer

Duration: 6 Months assignment (contract)

Client Location: Toronto (Onsite: 7.25 hours/day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday)

Engagement Model: Professional Services Engagement – B2B (Incorporated Entities Only)

About the Engagement

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Front End - Software Developer to support the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of complex enterprise web applications.

The successful consultant will bring extensive experience with Java, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML5 and CSS, along with strong expertise in responsive web development, Oracle databases and accessible web application development.

The role requires the ability to translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications while collaborating effectively with technical and functional teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.

Scope

• Design, develop and implement front-end functionality and effective user interfaces for complex enterprise web applications.
• Translate technical system specifications into functional, tested and maintainable applications.
• Develop responsive and accessible web interfaces using modern front-end technologies.
• Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain application components.

Assignment Deliverables

• Develop and enhance front-end application components using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML5 and CSS.
• Design and implement responsive, accessible and cross-browser-compatible web interfaces.
• Develop, test and maintain Java-based application components and integrations.
• Produce detailed programming specifications and reusable, maintainable code.

Expertise Required

Must Have

• 10+ years of demonstrated experience using Java.
• 10+ years of demonstrated JavaScript development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on React development experience.
• 5+ years of TypeScript development experience.
• 5+ years of RxJS experience.
• 5+ years of development experience with HTML5 and CSS.
• 5+ years of experience with Java development IDE tools, such as Eclipse, IBM RAD and IBM RSA.
• 5+ years of experience with WebSphere v8.5 or higher.
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA.
• 5+ years of experience with Node/NPM and related front-end development tooling.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing Internet-ready applications.
• Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices.
