Job Description
A healthcare insurance provider is looking for a Software Developer/Analyst to join their team remotely. Core working hours for this team are flexible but will be between 9:00am - 5:00pm CST. This team is responsible for supporting the client reporting strategy side of the organization and build and create the necessary BI tools used by internal teams to drive the business. This position is open because the company currently has a large footprint of SAS in Teradata and they are looking to migrate to Python in GCP. This project is a large scale migration and this person will primarily be responsible for migration of SAS code to Python. They will be evaluating if they will be able to migrate the Python code directly into GCP, or if further enhancements must happen internally before the rest of this migration can take place. This person will partner with the existing team to help create a roadmap of how they will set everything up in Python and GCP. They will assist with knowledge transfer for data conversion and Python knowledge to the existing team that may not possess this skillset. They will be involved in optimization as this migration moved forward, and will make recommendations for improved processes and best practices as this code conversion happens. At times they may work on some of the team's existing projects and may work directly with stakeholders to understand requirements, and work with the development teams to build the necessary reports. This person will join a team of 3 other developers and should have exemplary communication skills, strong business acumen, and high attention to detail.
