Location: 100% remote from the USA

Compensation: $100

Hours of work: 5-7 hours, over a maximum duration of 2 days

Must haves

  • Must be physically located in the U.S.
  • Valid U.S. ID (for identity verification if requested)
  • Experience using VPNs to simulate different U.S. states
  • Access to both desktop and mobile (or reliable mobile emulator)
  • Basic understanding of QA testing or frontend validation
  • Ability to capture and share clear screenshots or recordings
  • Reliable communication and attention to detail
  • Own VPN

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Tester based in the United States to validate a series of geo-location restriction behaviors for a web-based platform. This role is perfect for someone with a solid understanding of frontend testing and VPN tools, who can clearly document and report UI behavior across different access scenarios.

You will simulate visits from various U.S. states using a VPN and confirm that the platform behaves as expected, including popup logic, login handling, and mobile responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Simulate access from different U.S. states (restricted and allowed) using a VPN.
  • Test UI behavior and popup logic based on geo-restriction rules.
  • Validate responsive behavior across desktop and mobile.
  • Document test results using screenshots or screen recordings.
  • Provide a simple confirmation checklist for each scenario tested.
  • Flag and document any bugs, mismatches, or inconsistencies found.

Scenarios You’ll Test Include

  • Blocked vs Allowed IP behaviour
  • Popup visibility, dismissible, and animation
  • Login attempts under restricted conditions
  • Mobile responsiveness
  • Page refresh and multi-page navigation behaviour

  • Familiarity with tools like Loom, OBS, Chrome DevTools
  • Experience working with agile or remote product teams
