Telecom QA Engineer - Mobile

A growing technology organization is seeking a QA Engineer with strong manual testing and technical troubleshooting skills, along with experience contributing to test automation. This role will validate solutions across mobile, web/backend, integrations, and connected accessories while working closely with R&D, Product, Delivery, and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, regression, sanity, and acceptance testing
• Test Android/iOS applications, web and backend systems, integrations, and connected devices/accessories
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, ATPs, and validation documentation
• Identify opportunities for test automation and contribute to automated test development and maintenance
• Track QA KPIs including test progress, coverage, defect trends, and release quality
• Monitor quality trends and use dashboards/reporting to provide actionable insights
• Document and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps, logs, and evidence
• Troubleshoot issues across client, backend, network, integration, and environment layers
• Collect and analyze application, device, and server logs
• Support releases, patches, production validation, and customer-specific testing
• Collaborate with R&D, Product, Delivery, and QA teams to communicate quality status, risks, and blockers

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience testing mobile applications, particularly Android and iOS
• Experience with web and backend testing
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and defect management
• Working knowledge of test automation tools, frameworks, and concepts
• Experience with Jira or similar defect-tracking tools
• Ability to analyze logs and troubleshoot complex, end-to-end workflows
• Working knowledge of Linux environments
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Good working proficiency in English and French

Preferred

• Telecom, MCPTT/PTT, or mission-critical communications experience
• Knowledge of SIP and 3GPP-based integrations
• Experience testing hardware accessories or connected devices
• Experience with large-scale or distributed systems
• ISTQB or equivalent certification
• Hands-on automation experience with UI, API, mobile, or backend testing
• Scripting or programming experience
