Position Summary

Experis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer to support a federal agency's mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of hands-on software development experience , with advanced proficiency in Java/J2EE, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Spring Framework, JavaScript/React, and AWS . This role requires strong database development expertise, UI development experience, and the ability to deliver enterprise-grade solutions in an Agile federal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable applications using Java 8 (J2EE), Spring Boot, React, and RESTful APIs.
  • Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using Oracle and PostgreSQL, with advanced SQL and PL/SQL scripting.
  • Implement web-based user interfaces with JavaScript, AJAX, and React while ensuring Section 508 compliance.
  • Support full application lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, and production support.
  • Collaborate within Agile Scrum and Kanban teams using tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Participate in CI/CD workflows, DevSecOps pipelines, and deployment automation using tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
  • Operate and troubleshoot applications hosted in AWS Cloud, leveraging services like EC2, RDS, S3, EBS, and AMIs.
  • Support and maintain enterprise applications in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a [Public Trust / Secret / Top Secret] security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on development experience in:
  • Java 8 (J2EE), Spring Framework 5+, Spring Boot 2
  • JavaScript/AJAX, React, HTML, CSS
  • Hibernate 5+, RESTful Web Services
  • SQL/RDBMS, specifically Oracle and PostgreSQL
  • Apache Tomcat, Red Hat JBoss, Linux (RHEL/CentOS)
  • Eclipse IDE, Maven, Git
  • 8+ years in database development and enterprise troubleshooting with a focus on performance tuning and scalability.
  • 5+ years of experience with:
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) — including EC2, RDS, S3, EBS, AMIs, IaaS
  • Agile frameworks — Scrum and Kanban
  • Atlassian tools — Jira and Confluence
  • CI/CD tools and automation frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, and other federal compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with containerized environments and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Oracle, Java, or AWS certifications preferred.
