Intern, Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Developer Intern to join our Citizen Remote Identity Verification team in Ottawa. This is an 8-month internship starting January 4, 2027. You will work with senior developers on the Entrust Identity as a Service platform. This role is hybrid.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications with the development team.
• Build backend components using .NET Core and C#.
• Integrate AI-driven features into our applications.
• Use GitHub Copilot and similar tools to improve code quality and productivity.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to deliver high-quality code.

What you'll need

• Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related program.
• 4th-year students are preferred, though 3rd-year students with relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience with React.NET Core, and C#.
• Knowledge of AI development concepts and frameworks.
• Familiarity with GitHub and version control best practices.
• Understanding of object-oriented design and design patterns.
• Experience with tools used to manage, build, and test code.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment with strong problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail, time management, and planning abilities.
• Interest in learning new languages and frameworks.

• Location: Ottawa, Ontario (Hybrid).
• Term: 8 months, starting January 4, 2027.
• Employment type: Full time.
• Compensation: $23 to $28 per hour.
