QA Automation Tester (New York City, NY, 10115) | 2026-01-21 11:26:11 Job Description We are seeking a QA Automation Tester to build and execute automated test suites for web and API-based applications in a fast-paced, Agile environment in New York City. This role partners closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to improve test coverage, reduce defects, and support frequent, stable releases.​ Key responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API services using modern test frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).​ Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases for functional, regression, and integration testing as part of the software development lifecycle.​ Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.) and monitor stability of test runs.​ Analyze test results, triage failures, log clear defects, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues quickly.​ Contribute to test strategy, improve automation frameworks, and expand coverage across UI, API, and microservices.​ Participate in Agile ceremonies, refine acceptance criteria, and ensure stories include testability and quality requirements.​ Required qualifications 3-5+ years of hands-on QA automation experience, preferably in product or fintech/enterprise environments in or similar to NYC markets.​ Strong programming/scripting skills in at least one language used for test automation (e.g., Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C#).​ Solid experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or WebdriverIO.​ Experience with API automation and tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar.​ Good understanding of software testing concepts (functional, regression, integration, and acceptance testing) and QA best practices.​ Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams and using test management/defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr).​ Preferred skills Experience testing in cloud environments such as AWS or similar (CloudWatch, S3, Lambdas, API Gateway, etc.).​ Familiarity with BDD frameworks (Cucumber, SpecFlow) and data‑driven or hybrid automation frameworks.​ Working knowledge of SQL for validating data and creating test datasets.​ Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain defects and quality risks to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.​ QA Automation Tester1TYPESCRIPT, Microservices, Automation, Selenium, DevOps, Amazon Web Services, Scripting, Jenkins, jira, GitHub, Agile Methodology, Amazon S3, Risk Analysis, Testrail, Software Engineering, Api Gateway, postman, SpecFlow, Selenium WebDriver, Scrum Methodology, Cloudwatch, TEST MANAGEMENT, Quality Management, Triage, Communication Skills, Playwright, SQL databases, Integration tests, FinTech, code coverage, Defect Tracking, Java (Programming Language), Team Working, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Python (Programming Language), C Sharp (Programming Language), JavaScript (Programming Language), Automation of Tests, Testing Skills, Acceptance Testing, Testing (Software), Software Testablity, Gitlab-ci, Cypress (Programming Language), Strategies of Testing, Cucumber (Software), Microsoft UI Automation ContractUnited States
