About the position

Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategies that improve Contentful's developer user experience.
• Build tools and frameworks that streamline the end-to-end development process.
• Identify and develop product enhancements to maximize the platform's extensibility.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of tools that allow developers to customize Contentful to meet user and business needs.
• Actively engage with feedback from internal teams and external developers to identify and implement enhancements to our developer tools and SDKs.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our tools and SDKs remain cutting-edge and provide a remarkable developer experience.
• Provide collaborative guidance to other engineers, fostering an inclusive and innovative work environment.
• Proactively drive alignment between product teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Engage with customer and partner developers in order to stay connected with the struggles they face and help inform the team's work and priorities.
• Monitor and respond to Contentful's existing and prospective customers to obtain feedback, help drive the product vision, and find areas of opportunity and innovation.

Requirements

• Create excellent products and services using TypeScript, React, and Node.js with a solid understanding of clean code practices and exposure to enterprise architectural design patterns.
• Experience with recent trends in developer tooling, developer productivity, and maintaining public, open-source libraries is a plus.
• Strong communicator with a passion for collaboration and pair programming.
• Excited about collaborating with a broader engineering organization across multiple time zones and handling asynchronous communication.
• A passion for AI-driven innovation, thinking about how we can incorporate AI into extending our platform and building developer tools.
