About the job

About Us

Tunjio Labs is a forward-thinking company dedicated to innovation and excellence. We are passionate about solving real-world problems with world-class products.

For our Stealth Dating/Relationship Re-imagine Project, we are reimagining how people connect, communicate, and build meaningful relationships — powered by AI, data, and human-centered design.

We are looking for a Zero-to-One Mobile Software Engineer (Android/iOS) — someone who thrives in ambiguity, builds with intention, and is excited to co-create the foundation of a transformative relationship platform.

This is not a traditional job — it’s an opportunity to co-build from zero, with equity-based compensation and a chance to shape the future of human connection right here in Nigeria.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a founder-minded mobile engineer with deep experience in building and launching mobile applications — particularly Android and iOS — as well as solid understanding of backend systems.

You’ll be responsible for turning early product concepts into real, usable prototypes — designing for speed, scalability, and emotional intelligence.

You will

✔ Architect and build the first version of the relationship app — focusing on mobile-first experience for Android and iOS users.

✔ Collaborate closely with product, AI, and design teams to translate ideas into tangible, delightful mobile experiences.

✔ Prototype rapidly — shipping MVPs, testing hypotheses, and iterating with speed.

✔ Integrate AI and data-driven features that personalize user journeys and foster meaningful interactions.

✔ Lay down technical foundations for performance, security, and scalability as the app grows.

Who You Are

You are a builder at heart — a hands-on mobile engineer who thrives in early-stage chaos, thinks like a founder, and creates with purpose.

You are

  • Skilled in mobile app development with React Native or Flutter (Android & iOS).
  • Comfortable integrating mobile apps with Node.js, Django, or FastAPI backends.
  • Experienced in RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or similar).
  • Strong in database design (SQL/NoSQL) and integrating third-party APIs.
  • Passionate about building intuitive, emotionally intelligent mobile experiences.
  • Curious about how AI and psychology can blend to improve digital connection.
  • Independent, resourceful, and driven — you ship, test, and learn fast.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Mobile Product Development: Build and iterate the full mobile app stack — frontend, backend integrations, and data connections.

🔹 Cross-Platform Engineering: Deliver a seamless, high-performing experience across Android and iOS.

🔹 System Design: Define core mobile architecture, API layers, and data flows.

🔹 Collaboration: Work with AI engineers, designers, and content strategists to bring the relationship experience to life.

🔹 Performance & Security: Ensure the mobile app is fast, secure, and scalable as usage grows.

🔹 Rapid Prototyping: Translate early concepts into live, testable features within days — not months.

Compensation

This is an equity-based role — you’ll be a co-founder-level technical builder, owning a stake in the product’s success and shaping the technical DNA of a category-defining relationship platform being built from Nigeria for the world.

Who This Role Is For

  • You’re passionate about building mobile-first products from scratch, not maintaining existing systems.
  • You love solving real human problems through elegant code and thoughtful mobile design.
  • You believe technology should enhance connection, not distraction.
  • You want to build something meaningful, not just work on another app.
  • You’re ready to ship, learn, and iterate fast with a small, mission-driven founding team based in Nigeria.

If you’re ready to build the foundation of a reimagined relationship experience for Android and iOS users, let’s talk
